Short biography
Ivan Bodrožić is a full professor at the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Split, at the Chair of the History of Christian Literature and Christian Doctrine. He completed two years of philosophical-theological studies in Split and the remaining four years at the Santa Croce University in Rome, where he graduated in 1994. After graduating, he pursued postgraduate studies in Patrology at the Augustinianum Patristic Institute in Rome, where he earned his doctorate in 2000, defending a dissertation titled “Numerology in the Thought of St. Augustine.” In 2007, he was admitted to the International Association for Patristic Studies (Association Internationale d’Études Patristiques). He has collaborated on and led numerous scientific projects and organized a series of scientific conferences. In 2022 he received the Faculty Award for Science, and in 2023 he was awarded the Split-Dalmatia County Award for Excellence in Scientific In 2022, he received the Faculty Award for Science, and in 2023 he was awarded the Split-Dalmatia County Award for Excellence in Scientific Work. He is the head of the “Hieronymianum” scientific research center, dedicated to the study of the life and work of St. Jerome. From the 2022/2023 to the 2024/2025 academic year, he served as Vice-Dean for Science at the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Split, and since 2025/2026 he has served as Dean of the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Split.Work. He is head of the “Hieronymianum” scientific research center, dedicated to the study of the life and work of St. Jerome. From the 2022/2023 to the 2024/2025 academic year he served as Vice-Dean for Science at the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Split, and since 2025/2026 he has served as Dean of the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Split.
