Short biography
Ivo Bezina was born in 1986 in Split. After completing secondary school in electrical engineering, he attended philosophical-theological studies from 2005 to 2010 at the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Split, where he earned a Master’s degree in Theology. He was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska in 2014 and served in pastoral ministry for the next two years. From 2016 to 2018, he pursued postgraduate studies in dogmatic theology at the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (Italy), where he earned a licentiate in dogmatic theology. Upon returning from Rome, he served as spiritual director and then as rector of the Archdiocesan Seminary in Split. Since the 2023/2024 academic year, he has been an external associate at the Chair of Dogmatic and Ecumenical Theology of the Catholic Faculty of Theology, and since the 2024/2025 academic year, he has been a teaching assistant at the Chair of Dogmatic Theology of the Catholic Faculty of Theology. His research focuses on systematic theology, particularly the question of the human person from theological-dogmatic and interdisciplinary perspectives. He is currently a doctoral candidate at the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Zagreb.
