Short biography

Assoc. Prof. Ana Jeličić, PhD, graduated in theology (philosophical-theological track) from the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Split in 2005. As a “Renovabis” scholarship holder, she completed the University Postgraduate Program in Social Communications at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome in 2007. She then enrolled in the Postgraduate Program in Philosophy at the same university’s Faculty of Philosophy, where she earned a Master of Science in the philosophy of communications in 2009. After completing her postgraduate studies, she returned to Split and was employed at the Media Office of the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska, where she edited and produced more than a hundred religious-educational television programs. In parallel, she enrolled in the Doctoral Program in Philosophy at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb, where she obtained her PhD in 2016. Since 2012, she has been employed at the Faculty of Forensic Sciences, where she teaches several courses in (bio)ethics, media, and communication studies. As an external associate, she also teaches at several constituent units of the University of Split: the Faculty of Health Studies and the Catholic Faculty of Theology. She has published more than 30 scientific and professional papers, two scientific books, one conference proceedings volume, and one monograph, either individually or as a co-author. For more than fifteen years, she has given lectures and workshops on family communication and communication skills within the marriage and family pastoral program of the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska. She is a member of the Croatian Philosophical Society, the Croatian Bioethics Society, and the International Society for Clinical Bioethics, and serves on the editorial board of the scientific philosophical-theological journal Služba Božja. She was long a member of the editorial council of the university newspaper Universitas. She collaborates with various media outlets, writes a column for the Mreže riječi portal titled “Genij žene” (“The Genius of Woman”), regularly contributes to the Vjesnik of the Đakovo-Osijek Archdiocese, and participates in training sessions for media associates of the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska.In the 2025/2026 academic year she founded, and has since led, the Center for the Ethics of Digital Communication and Algorethics (CEDKA) at the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Split, with the aim of promoting digital literacy and ethics and responsibility in the application of artificial intelligence, in the spirit of theological and Christian values.
