Short biography

Nikša Jajac was born in August 1977 in Split, Croatia, where he graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture (University of Split, Croatia) in 2003. He earned his doctorate at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Split (2010) in the field of economic sciences, focusing on decision support for the management of urban infrastructure systems. Since 2011, he has been an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy (FCEAG) of the University of Split. During that time, he served as head of the Technology Transfer Office of the University of Split and as a councilor in the Assembly of Split-Dalmatia County. He is currently a Full Professor and Vice-Rector for Infrastructure of the University of Split, having previously served two elected terms as Dean of FCEAG Split. He is an active researcher in an interdisciplinary field spanning civil engineering and economics, with a particular focus on project management, sustainable development of urban infrastructure systems, decision support systems, and quantitative decision-making methods. He is a researcher on numerous national and international competitive scientific projects, the author of around 60 original scientific papers, a reviewer for 12 scientific journals, and a member of the editorial board of 2 journals. Prof. Jajac is a member of several associations, such as the Association of Civil Engineers of Split, the Croatian Operational Research Society, and RC Split Plus, among others.
