Short biography
Maja Rončević was born on 28 April 1990 in Split. She completed primary school in Split and then enrolled at the 3rd Gymnasium in Split. After completing secondary school, she enrolled in 2009 at the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Split. She graduated from the same faculty on 25 September 2014 with a thesis titled “Augustine’s Conversion — a Hermeneutical Key to Contemporary Conversions,” under the supervision of Prof. Ante Vučković, PhD.
Since 2021, she has been a doctoral candidate at the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Split. As part of her scientific and research training, she participates in national and international symposia and conferences and publishes papers in domestic and international journals. She has taken part in patristic conferences in Croatia, Italy, Poland, Malta, Serbia, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
From 2023 to 2024, she served as assistant editor-in-chief of Crkva u svijetu, and in 2024 she served as a research associate on the international scientific research project “The Encounter-Conflict Relation between Christianity and Islam in Dalmatia from the 16th to the 18th Century: Relevance for the Present and Future.”
