Prof. Ivan Bodrožić at the 5th International Patristic Conference in Lublin

The 5th International Patristic Conference, “Synodality in the Early Church,” was held in Lublin from October 7 to 9, 2025, and organized by The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. On October 8, 2025, Prof. Ivan Bodrožić, the leader of the SVEJERKOV project, also participated in the conference, delivering a paper titled “Saint Jerome as a Translator at the Service of the Synods against Origen.”

In his presentation, Prof. Bodrožić examined St. Jerome’s work as a translator in the context of the ecclesiastical debates and synods against Origen, highlighting the importance of that work for understanding the theological controversies of early Christianity. The topic also opened space for reflection on Jerome’s contribution to shaping and transmitting the theological thought of his time.

Prof. Bodrožić’s participation in the conference took place within the framework of the institutional project “St. Jerome’s Forge of Words – SVEJERKOV (IP-21).” Through this presentation at an international scientific conference, the project was further introduced to the international academic community, and research on St. Jerome’s legacy was situated within the broader context of contemporary patristic studies.
